SOE Alumni Association

The SOE Alumni Association supports SOE’s mission of effectively preparing educators and other education personnel for professional performance in diverse cultural contexts. It serves as a connection for which SOE alumni can give back to their alma mater by sharing their talents, resources, etc. in different SOE events. It further serves as a source for developing alumni pride, spirit, and life-long commitments to the School of Education.

A Wacky Wednesday/
Read Across America, Saturday, March 7, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Hagatna Public Library

* Students and children will come dressed in mixed-match clothes and wacky hair styles.
* PowerPoint Read Aloud, Wacky Wednesday by Dr. Seuss
* Shadow Puppets (a 25 min. show sharing different Dr. Seuss books)
* Song-a-long, Student's original Dr. Seuss songs on PowerPoint
* Dance/Movement using streamers
* Hats-on-Parade - Children with their parents will create their wacky Dr. Seuss hat
* Arts and Crafts- Children will participate in 2 or 3 craft ideas
* Dr. Seuss Pinatas on Display
* Merienda

The University of Guam School of Education student organization, Association for Childhood Education International (UOG-ACEI) would like to congratulate the following students in grades K-12 for winning the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Island-wide Poster Contest titled “Fulfilling the Dream.”

The contest was open to students in K-12 grades attending public, private, or DODEA schools in Guam. The goal of the contest was to raise, enhance, and broaden awareness and knowledge levels of students about the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and about the significance and application of the major tenets of non-violence; and to look toward the future of the nation’s newest president, Barack Obama.
