336 to Graduate at UOG Spring Commencement on May 21

Attorney General of Hawaii Douglas Chin is the Commencement Speaker.
The University of Guam will recognize a record 336 prospective graduates at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, 2017 in the UOG Calvo Field House during the 2017 Fañomnagan / Spring Commencement Ceremony.
The 336 total graduates represent the single largest graduating class in the University’s history. Of the expected graduates, 270 will receive undergraduate degrees and 66 will receive graduate degrees.
“The University continues to showcase the wonderful achievements of its students,” said UOG President Dr. Robert Underwood. “We will also have the opportunity to hear from a speaker who has made national headlines for challenging a Presidential Executive Order and upholding the U.S. Constitution.”
Commencement Speaker
The honorable Douglas Chin, Attorney General of the State of Hawaii is the commencement speaker. Chin was cast into the national spotlight in March for his challenge of President Donald Trump’s revised travel ban which suspended travel from seven Muslim countries and halted the US refugee program.
"I am happy to go to the University of Guam to share my experiences and to encourage UOG Tritons to prepare for the challenges they will face,” said Chin. "This is a time of uncertainty, but with that comes opportunity. I look forward to speaking with the graduates who will be working to make positive change in the coming years."
Attendance to the UOG Fañomnagan / Spring 2017 Commencement Ceremonies is by ticket only. Graduating students are encouraged to pick up their tickets at the Admissions Office and to call 735-2214 for more information.

UOG Fañomnagan Spring 2017 Commencement Ceremonies will begin at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, 2017.
